Many people do not agree with the idea of Barbie because she is a child's toy, and children often try to emulate their toys. When a little boy is handed a dinosaur you will often see him play with his friends acting as if he were actually one himself. Little girls are handed a Barbie and many people get frightened that young girls will try to imitate her looks. The shape of Barbie's body is not propotionate. Barbie was created with larbe breasts, skinny waste, and perfect legs. Many parent fear that this may lead childrean to anorexia. Barbie does not have a healthy body image, however she is the icon for girls all over the world. They are trained to think that this is what you are suppose to look like when you get older.
